Your environment, outer AND inner, has a profound effect on your business…here’s how:
I have found that it’s easier to ‘clear the clouds’ from my inner environment if my outer world is in order first.
So if you are feeling low with little to no motivation to get anything done, try reorganizing your office or workspace, clearing clutter from your computer or even cleaning your house!
Then take a break and reward yourself by getting outside and walking in nature for twenty minutes to half and hour.
You’ll be surprised as how quickly this clears up the mental clouds that have been overshadowing your brilliance! This is a great way to get a nearly instant recharge on your mindset. What works for you when you are dealing with clouds? Please share in the comments below…

I’m SO with you on this Ellen! Feeling the same thing…catching my breathe after a busy conference and all this rain in Atlanta….going to try cleaning and organizing one corner of my desk and see the impact!
Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks Laura! Yes, it’s amazing how rain and lack of light can have such an impact on our thoughts and motivation.
I couldn’t agree more Ellen!
I try to keep my office clear and beautiful and get outside every day to get air and movement. Stretching, yawning and sometimes a quick nap help too!
Spring flowers just starting to show here in the Uk which is uplifting!

My environment yesterday started out awful – but it was all on the computer! Despite yesterday’s sunshine, the computer was acting up and I was bouncing from one app to the other because I’m impatient! Finally decided to go to Chrome (still some things there I don’t like) but the biggest thing I did, advice courtesy of Maryam Webster, was shut everything down, close the computer, and walk away. I went and did some exercise and came back much more focused (and today was much better too!)
Like you said, Ellen, it could be in your inside OR your outside environment
Rosemary, I love the addition of stretching, yawning and a quick nap…!
And Terri, yes I’ve noticed that my computer environment can really affect me…I need to take Miss Maryam’s advice more often and just walk away!
