If you haven’t gotten your free Twitter account, you are at serious risk of being totally left behind. Along with the Web 2.0 giants Facebook and MySpace, this fast-growing social networking application is leaving other platforms in the dust.
If you already have an account, don’t settle for leaving your Twitter page on its default settings…you want to stand out from the crowd. At least go into the Settings menu and change your background colors and so forth and please, put your picture on your page.
If you have Photoshop skills (or know someone who does), you can create a customized background for your page. Outsourcing this task to someone at elance or one of the other outsourcing networks is also another way to get this done quickly.
The page changes don’t have to be monumental to make you stand out…on my Twitter page we simply put in a white background, added our logo to the left side of the page and changed the background color of the right sidebar to match the logo…and Voila!
So hop on over to Twitter and set up an account. If you have one already, go back and customize your page so you don’t look like everyone else. You do want to stand out in a crowded marketplace, don’t you?
